More about Julie
Hi, I’m Julie. I’m a designer and illustrator, and I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. My four years in Richmond were such a special chapter of my life. I received incredible education and mentorship, met lifelong friends, and my husband is from here, so the city will always feel like home to me.
I started my career as an illustrator, creating editorial illustrations for newspapers and magazines. After interning as a graphic designer at Campfire & Co., I fell in love with graphic design and began incorporating it into my practice. Later on, I had the privilege of working in both China and the U.S., managing global brands like Pantene and Aussie during my five years with Procter & Gamble as a Senior Design Manager. This role strengthened my skills in creative strategy and collaboration across teams while shaping brands at a global scale. Beyond corporate work, I have also partnered with independent clients, from a dance studio to a local brewer to a self-published writer. Most recently, I collaborated with Richmond Venture and the Virginia Folklife Program on Richmond Folk Festival posters and product design. It was such a fun and rewarding journey, and I am so happy to give back to the city that shaped me.
