Application Process
Application: Deadline for Parent and Student Applications: February 1, 2008
- Parent application form
- Student application form
- $50 application fee
- Release of records sent by family to student's current school and any other groups that may have tested the student (Release of Records Form, 62 kb, PDF)
- Teacher recommendation form given to teacher who knows student well
- Parent and student interviews
- Student onsite writing sample
Interview and Visitation: December 2007 to February 2008
- Once parent and student applications are received by Orchard House, an interview will be scheduled with the student and with her family.
- Onsite writing sample required at the time of interview
Financial Aid:
- Request for Financial Aid form to Orchard House by February 1, 2008 (Request for Financial Aid Form, 64 kb, PDF)
- Application to FAST by February 15, 2008
- Tax forms to Orchard House by March 5, 2008
Notification:
- Applicant decisions: for fifth grade by February 22, 2008
- Applicant decisions: for all other grades by April 18, 2008
- Financial aid decisions: by May 16, 2008
Factors Considered in Enrollment and Financial Aid Decisions:

- the student’s potential to respond to a challenging course of study
- the student’s awareness of and interest in an emerging sense of self
- given the school’s resources, the ability of Orchard House to meet a student’s needs
- the student’s report cards
- the student’s tardiness and attendance records
- the student’s scores on standardized tests
- teacher recommendations
- family and student interview
