Admissions at Orchard House
Dear Parents, Families, Friends and Girls,
Welcome to Orchard House School!
Orchard House is committed to the healthy and authentic development of each of our eighty girls. We believe that healthy, authentic individuals ensure a healthy, productive society. Our learning community is carefully designed to foster mutual respect, personal authenticity and excellence, creative expression, leadership, and service. Since 1998 we have worked continuously to develop and to refine an exceptional program for middle school girls.
We clearly see the impact of an Orchard House education on our graduates- at the high school, college, graduate school levels, as well as in the job market and in their communities. Orchard House graduates are often cited for their leadership, academic strength, highly developed social skills, artistic and athletic abilities.
Though these are obvious markers of the success of an academic institution, they are not the essence of our work. We believe that a girl’s conscious engagement in her own life is the platform for her future happiness; a girl who is the subject of her own life rather the object of someone else’s life is a girl who thrives. If you were to ask what our portrait of an Orchard House graduate is - we would say the ideal Orchard House girl is a girl who is whole-heartedly, authentically herself.
In our community of eighty girls there is the opportunity to know the richness of each girl, to teach her as she learns best, and to strengthen her potential. As a result of our investment in the development of each girl individually there is no cookie cutter Orchard House girl. For us, our community is expanded by the limitless possibilities reflected by the girls in our midst. I hope you and your family will join us and explore what it means to educate individually while developing an abiding commitment to community.
Warmest regards,
Nancy W. Davies
