Putting Together a Class

M embers of the faculty and administration comprise the Admissions Committee. To build mission-appropriate classes of twenty students, we seek diversity in race, ethnicity, economics, geography, family make-up, and educational backgrounds. Decisions are made based on many factors. The Committee takes the individual into careful consideration while also looking at the relationships among the individuals within a class – how each girl will contribute to a class and draw from it. The process also takes the following into consideration: introversion and extroversion, learning styles, organizational skills, overt and emerging leadership skills, academic performance, social skills, outside interests and talents, academic ability and promise. We are looking for girls who bring a wealth of experiences and backgrounds rather than looking to create a class of the top 10% of academic achievers. We believe that learning from understanding along with respecting each other's styles, abilities, beliefs, and backgrounds coupled with strong academics creates a powerful education.
