Our Mission
At Orchard House School, we seek to foster each girl’s authentic self and strengthen her abilities and to provide our research and methodology as a resource to others. We believe that all aspects of our Mission are vital to the development of the whole girl, to her education, and to sharing our knowledge with the communities around us.
Mission Statement:
The Orchard House School Mission is to educate and to inspire middle school girls in an optimal learning environment. Orchard House School provides a dynamic and responsive community that fosters each girl’s intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, emotional integrity, and physical well-being. At Orchard House, we believe that girls develop competence and confidence through work and service, authentic identity through reflection and creativity, and courage through perseverance. The Mission is accomplished through a dynamic partnership of our staff, students, families, and community.
Diversity at Orchard House School
At Orchard House School we seek to build a community that is reflective of our increasingly diverse nation and global world. We believe a school’s vibrancy is deepened when there is a diverse collection of people, opinions, backgrounds, and beliefs within the school community. Under the Statement of Diversity and Community adopted by the Board of Trustees, we seek to create an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for all its community members.
Statement of Diversity and Community:
Orchard House School is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where girls learn to use their personal and collective voices for the good of all. The wealth of individual differences is the heart of the school community. The many variables of diversity develop our capacity for understanding and in turn build and strengthen our humanity. At the core of an Orchard House education is the cultivation of respect both for one’s self and for all others. An Orchard House education aspires to create a culture where respect, encouragement, and care distinguish interactions both inside and outside of the classroom.
